Ushuaia - On my way to Antarctica

I’ve been in Ushuaia, Argentina🇦🇷 for 3 days now and it still feels like a dream ... like I’m about to wake up and realise that I’ve only been dreaming.

My Spanish skills aren’t that good, which has already put me in exciting situations here.

For example, I sat at the BBQ with 11 Spanish-speaking strangers. Two of them could speak a little English and so we were able to communicate with their English and my Spanish. (faaar out of my comfort zone, but hey it was an adventure😅 ) It was good fun, Argentinians love to communicate and talk and they share everything even with strangers.

Now I’m looking forward to meet my fellow travellers for the trip to Antarctica. 🇦🇶

Communication should be a bit easier now, even though I’m the only non-native english speaker 😅

Ich bin jetzt seit 3 Tagen in Ushuaia, Argentinien🇦🇷, und es fühlt sich immer noch wie ein Traum an ... als würde ich gleich aufwachen und feststellen, dass ich nur geträumt habe.

Meine Spanischkenntnisse sind nicht so gut, was mich hier schon in spannende Situationen gebracht hat.

Zum Beispiel saß ich mit 11 spanischsprachigen Fremden am Grill. Zwei von ihnen konnten ein wenig Englisch, sodass wir uns mit ihrem Englisch und meinem Spanisch verständigen konnten. (Das war weit außerhalb meiner Komfortzone, aber hey, es war ein Abenteuer😅 ) Es hat viel Spaß gemacht, denn Argentinier lieben es, zu kommunizieren und zu reden, und sie teilen alles, sogar mit Fremden.

Jetzt freue ich mich darauf, meine Mitreisenden für die Reise in die Antarktis kennenzulernen. 🇦🇶

Die Kommunikation sollte jetzt etwas einfacher sein, auch wenn ich die einzige Nicht-Muttersprachlerin bin 😅
