I grew up using my dads analogue camera. I always loved taking pictures. Everytime I sent a full film roll to the photo lab I had to wait a few days to get my photos. Sometimes that was really hard.

It was back in 2005 when I bought my first digital camera. Now I was able to take even more pictures. 

A few years ago I bought a Nikon D90. But I didn't used it a lot and when I did, I always used the automatic mode. I had no idea about using a DSLR with all these settings....

I did a course but had not enough time and motivation to practice after that. 

On my last trip to Australia I took almost all pictures with my Sony Digital Camera because I had no idea how to handle the DSLR.

After I've seen lots of stunning photos from my brother and other photographers

I decided in 2017 to start again with this "How to use my DLSR project". 

During my road trip through Western Australia in 2018 I had lots of opportunities to get some practice with my Nikon D7200 which I bought only weeks before the trip. And for the first time I took photos at night (Skyline Perth & Milkyway)

 

There’s still so much to learn and try. No one is born a master. Means I need a lot more practice.

To get the most out of my pics I started using Adobe Lightroom as well.

Ich habe es immer schon geliebt Fotos zu schiessen. Als Kind habe ich immer die analoge Kamera meines Vaters benützt. Jedes Mal wenn ein Film voll war, musste ich einige Tage auf die Fotos wartet, das war manchmal nicht leicht. 

Im Jahr 2005 habe ich mir meine erste Digitalkamera gekauft. Jetzt konnte ich also noch mehr Fotos machen.

Vor ein paar Jahren habe ich mir eine Nikon D90 gekauft. Allerdings hatte ich keine Ahnung wie man eine Spiegelreflexkamera benützt, mit all diesen Funktionen und Möglichkeiten.

Ich habe einen Kurs besucht, hatte danach aber zu wenig Zeit und war zu wenig motiviert um das gelernte zu üben. 

Bei meiner letzten Australien Reise habe ich fast ausschliesslich meine Sony Digitalkamera benützt weil ich immer noch keine Ahnung hatte von meiner D90.

Nachdem ich dann viele grossartige Fotos von meinem Bruder und anderen Fotografen gesehen habe, liess es mir keine Ruhe. Ich habe beschlossen erneut einen Anfang mit meiner Spiegelreflexkamera zu wagen.

Während meiner Reise durch Westaustralien 2018 hatte ich viele Möglichkeiten meine Nikon D7200, welche ich einige Wochen vor der Abreise gekauft habe, einzusetzen. Und zum ersten Mal habe ich auch Nachtaufnahmen gemacht. (Skyline von Perth und die Milchstrasse)

 

Es gibt noch Vieles was ich lernen und ausprobieren möchte. Es ist ja bekanntlich noch kein Meister vom Himmel gefallen. Das heisst ich brauche noch etwas Übung.

Um das Beste aus meinen Bildern rauszuholen habe ich angefangen die Adobe Lightroom Software zu benützen.
