Rottnest Island – a day on the island

It’s been 5 years since my last day trip to Rottnest Island. This beautiful Island is only a 45Min. ferry ride from Perth and always worth a visit.

I rent a bike and started my day on Rotto with a hot chocolate and a warm toastie to warm up. It was actually pretty cold that day and I was happy that I chose warm clothes and even brought gloves with me. While I enjoyed my tasty toastie a curious Quokka surprised me and jumped on my legs. Like out of nothing – I didn’t see it coming.

A woman sitting nearby was very amused because I was so scared. The Quokkas are not allowed to be touched or fed. I then moved my legs so that the Quokka got off me again. It was actually a quite funny moment.

I started my bike ride around the island, enjoyed the scenery, saw some lizards, snakes and furr seals. It was a beautiful day and I really enjoyed it.
