Last weekend I attended a freediving class with Christian Redl in Zürich.
The day started with lots of theory and basic knowledge before the students did all the Static and Dynamic exercises in the pool. It was very interesting for me to see how the beginners made great progress very quickly. Watching the instructor teach the necessary knowledge and enthusiasm for the sport was such a pleasure for me. Everyone was very motivated.
On Sunday we met for the second part of the course in Herrliberg.
At the beginning rain showers provided cooling during the theory block. Afterwards the group was divided to avoid long waiting times at the buoy in the water.
The first group did a great job. Meanwhile group 2 had exciting conversations on land. When it was time for the change at the buoy, I supported a girl who had never been in a lake before. I was able to put myself in her position, because 3 years ago it was exactly the same for me. Through motivation and good persuasion she overcame her insecurity and joined the rest of the group. That was a great feeling!
Everyone showed really great performances and also on the second day it was great fun to accompany the group.
To experience how others develop joy and enthusiasm for free diving made my heart leap for joy.
To share this sport / this passion, which means so much to me personally and has changed my life so much, with others is great.
If my story and my experiences encourage others to overcome their fears and hurdles, then I am grateful for every hurdle that has been put in my way.
